In the event of a TORNADO WARNING in Baxter Springs, USD 508 will have shelters available to the public after school hours. The storm shelters are located at Baxter Springs High School/Middle School at 100 North Military, Central Elementary School at 1501 Park and Lincoln Elementary School at 801 Lincoln. The main entrances at each location will be open in the event of a TORNADO WARNING. In addition, there will be secondary entrances at each shelter indicated by a shelter warning sign. Please note, this is only AFTER SCHOOL HOURS and only in the event of a TORNADO WARNING. Please note, there are no pets allowed unless they are a service animal.
